MIDTOWN III

midtown iii

This all-night diner probably would have been amazing if we were drunk. Alas, we were not and therefore we were cognizant of the smoky interior and mediocre food quality. Picky continued on his never-ending quest for a root beer float and was once again, denied, and forced to settle for ice cream plopped atop of coke, or some facsimile thereof.

Messy's mozzarella sticks were generously portioned, but pretty much nothing else was (including the itty bitty Dixie-sized glasses of water). Picky's onion rings were burnt and not so big.

However, they did let us sit there and talk for hours, which earns them an above-average rating.

Messy **1/2
Picky **1/2

The final word: Not so great.

I go there for lunch sometimes but their stuff isn't all that great. The fries are stuck together and pathetic. Chicken Cordon Blue with mashed w/ gravy isn't that bad. Always check the menu on the window to see if it's worth venturing in. I know may restaurants in NE where I'm from. Send me an e-mail back, maybe we can keep in touch.

I have to say I disagree. I love the Midtown III. It is family owned and the service is friendly and fast. The french fries maybe stuck together…but they are crispy and tasty. The wings too are spicy just in themselves without any sauce…which is a rare find…..their soups are homemade and delicious. They have an arrange of items to choose from on their menu in which caters to everyone's taste….from greek specialites to seafood. The decor may not be modern in taste….but this is an establishment that has been pasted down through generations!!! They even have a bar on the one side if you are cruising for a late drink……
I usually don't reply to blogs or even waste my time typing in response to an incorrect review…..BUT………this— I had to defend the integrity of such a family prided restaurant that I am glad to call one of center city's best!
