NYPD PIZZA

After more than a dozen failed trips to various "pizza" places, Picky's co-worker told him about this gem. Being huuuge Law & Order fans, we don't know if it truly lives up to the standards of the NYPD. Messy thought it was phenomenal, but Messy also thinks Papa John's garlic butter sauce is phenomenal.
Here are Picky's thoughts on our two visits to NYPD Pizza: The first trip there, Picky's sicilian slice and pepperoni slices were both undercooked. But the thickness of the slices was finally correct; no overly doughy slices here. The second time there, Picky's slice was overcooked while Messy's was perfect. Very odd, since they were the two slices next to each other on the pie and they were in the oven for the same amount of time.
All in all, a good place to order up a slice [and they'll know what you mean when you say "Gimme a slice"] if you don't want to drive to NY –or at least northern Jersey.

The final word: A slice of NY in Philly… sort of.

I gave NYPD a shot - twice. Most recently I had a delivery order of a pizza and a cheesesteak hoagie. What I got was a regular cheesesteak and quite possibly the worst pizza I have ever had. For the first time I had to throw away the pie. Hardly any cheese, undercooked and uncooked toppings. Granted the cheesesteak was decent but not what I ordered

Weird — NYPD has become my go-to pizza place for delivery in Center City. It's not exactly New York pizza (and I say that as a Brooklyn native), but it's pretty damn close. Good size, good flavor, good thickness. I'd suggest getting the pie well done, since the first two times we ordered from NYPD it came a little underdone.

First timer and I'm hooked I was with a party of 4 and we all ordered something different and EVERYTHING was delicious, the staff was great, the waitness was the best, LOVED the atmosphere. live in Zephyrhills and we need one here, we have a lot of New Yorker who stay in for 6 months of the year and this place would do a great business here. Will be back again as often as possible.

Just shamefully bad, inept pizza making. The dough tastes not unlike dry, oily brioche. The sauce is flavorless (and not in a good way). The cheese, oily and salty. Amongst the worst pizza it's been my misfortune to eat.
